Summer Program
May 24, 2002

(C) 2002, Don Mize

As we start our summer program, here are some events of interest.

We will offer a Free Anger Management Seminar, on June 15th, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.  The location will depend on the number of people registering.  See the overview for more detailed information.

Be sure and phone the Becoming office at 936-544-8298 and register for the Anger Management Seminar.  The deadline is June 10th. We must be sure we have enough space.

I've been receiving requests for Bible Studies, and I've decided to see if the interest is more than a passing fancy.  An Adult Bible Study will meet in my home on Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m.  The first meeting will be on June 2nd.  Sorry, no child care is available. Please don't bring children.  We want a time of interaction for adults.

We will decide on the topics once the group is formed.  The first meeting we will get to know one another, and I will go over some key scriptures that can help us in times of crisis.

We might take on a study of a book of the Bible such as Romans, Galatians, or I Corinthians.  All three of those books are filled with topics that apply to daily life.  See the overview for more details.

Also, I encounter Single Adults who would like to spend time with other singles.  In our rural area, no one church is able to develop an extensive program for singles.

Bev and I have decided to offer a Single Adult Bible Study  on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m. in our home.  The first meeting will be on June 2nd.  Sorry, we won't have child care. Please do not bring children. We want you to be able to relax and focus on learning and fellowship.

Again, precisely what we study will depend on the needs and interests of the group.  From the Bible study other programs might develop as needed.

See the overview  for more information.

Space will be limited for the Bible Studies, so phone the Becoming office at 936-544-8298 to help us save you a place.  No cost is involved in the Bible studies.  Bring your Bible and a notebook if you like to take notes.

The overview pages for the Bible studies and for the Anger Management Seminar can be printed and distributed if you wish to share the information with a friend.

During the summer, many parents like to involve children in our program for educational enrichment.  We read current events, talk about ideas, and stretch minds.  Although usually this program is offered as a private session, I would form small groups if the need arose.

Also, we can concentrate on specific skills such as reading or writing in private sessions.

Hope you are looking forward to a fun summer.
