|Do you ever feel you aren't reaching your potential? What
do you want out of life? Really want? That might now
be as simple as it sounds.
Many of us continue to be frustrated in life because what we really want is at odds with what others have told us we want. Many of us waste our lives by consciously working for one thing while subconsciously we are pulled in an entirely different direction.
Take me, for example. I spent most of my life trying to be successful by unconsciously striving to reach false models of success. All the time, deep within, I wanted a whole different way of living.
And the funny thing is, God knew that all the time. Many times I felt frustrated and defeated because I wasn't reaching some illusion of success while all the time God was developing me to be the person He created me to be.
Our deepest desires and the will of God aren't necessarily in conflict. Conflict comes because we seek our ideas about success.
Sure, you have to make a living. If you have a family, you need to be responsible in providing for your family. Kids need to be educated as well as fed.
Besides, we are part of a community, a nation, and a world. I'm not talking about being selfish and irresponsible. I'm talking about how much more you will contribute if you are motivated, believing in what you are doing, and fulfilling that inner spark God put in your heart that corresponds to His will for your life.
What's different about a Life Coach?
So, how does a Life Coach work? What is so different about having a Life Coach and thousands of other improvement schemes?
For one thing, this is no scheme. You are always in control. You may quit the program at any time.
There are coaches, and there are coaches
We may use the analogy of sports to say that some coaches are more successful than others in teaching, motivating, planning, and inspiring. Life Coaching works the same way. You must be satisfied with your progress. When you aren't satisfied, you quit the program.
The first step
The first step is to help you define what you really want. We aren't talking about setting goals. We're talking about helping you put into words what you really want, down deep, in your secret heart.
You may not really know. If not, you have probably been wandering, not really motivated. Maybe you've even been successful, but you know your life is slipping away. Maybe you have never found yourself. You aren't motivated to stick with anything very long.
How long does this take?
Not long, because we start where you are at the same time we are helping you be honest with yourself. We set up a process of self-discovery at the same time we are helping you with the things you consciously want.
The second step
I use the idea of steps, but really we work on all three steps at once, constantly evaluating and updating. The second part of the process (step) is to help you list the barriers to getting what you want.
You can probably list some things off the top of your head, but we will help you list others you might not think of. Each session we update.
The third step (in the ongoing process)
We take a barrier and develop a plan with you to overcome that barrier.
But the important thing is that we send you out to take specific actions to overcome the barrier. The actions become part of the learning. What worked? What didn't work? How do we need to redefine you plan, wants, and barriers? What adjustments do we need to make?
How much does it cost?
We will work out the costs with you. See Program Costs for more information.
How often do I come?
Generally, one 50 minute session per week. You then work your plan, gain experience, and come in the next week to update.
You will leave the first session with things to do that will start you on the process of achieving what you want out of life.
What's the catch?
We must have 24 hour notice if you cancel.
We find no joy in expecting payment for a late cancellation or for your forgetting a session. We simply cannot set aside the time, plan our day around you, probably turn down some other people, and then have you tell us you have a headache at the last minute. To make the program work, we simply must have 24 hour notice for cancellations.
What if I can't drive in to your office for a session?
We will set up an email or phone session for you just as if you came into the office for a session.
While the face-to-face contact has strong points, at times people even prefer phone or email session.
In fact, tell us your needs, and we will work with you.
How do I get started?
Phone (936) 544-8292 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We'll discuss it with you and decide if we want to work together.
